Academic Achievement

St Michael’s Anglican College prepares students for a number of external examinations and results to date have been commendable. At the JSS level, candidates sit both NECO BECE and Kaduna State examinations (JSCE) while at the SS level, candidates study for WAEC & NECO Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE). With a firmly-established policy of zero-tolerance on examination malpractice, the College places emphasis on students understanding concepts and building up solid foundations for future studies.

NECO BECE & Kaduna State JSCE results
As in previous years, the 2022 results are again impressive. The overall pass rate was excellent at 88.3% and for those exams most students sat all the subjects, which has being the trend over the years. Kaduna State results still being expected as of the time of this update usually reflect similar pattern of academic achievement.

WAEC & NECO SSCE results
Results over the past years for which the College has been offering candidates at the senior level have been commendable. The College has a total pass by WAEC rating of 98.3% with excellent credit passes and above in 2022. It is worthy of note that all our students presented for 2022 WAEC SSCE had 100% credit passes in major subjects such as Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics etc with zero tolerance to exam malpractice attested to by the two examination bodies. To God be all the glory.

Academic competitions
College students have met with considerable success in both state and zonal competitions. These include winning JETS competitions, Health/HIV&AIDS organised competitions,Olympiad International Science Competition, Cowbell Mathematics Competition etc.The College also performed excellently in the 2017 Chemistry competition organised by the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Kaduna State branch. Our student came 1st overall in the competition.Our Student Tomi Ogunseye came 3rd overall in the All Schools creative writers competition hosted by Danbo International School in July 2022.  In sports, the College is a force to reckon with as it came tops in the Kaduna Secondary schools 2017 athletic Competition jointly organised by the State sports council with sponsorship by Destiny Group of Schools. Also in July 2017, the College was celebrated at the All Kaduna state Athletic Competition for Secondary Schools organised by Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) winning Gold medals in 200m, 400m, High Jump and won Bronze in Javelin, 4x100m and 4x400m events. Our athlete Victor Nnaji created a new secondary school record in high jump clearing 1.87m. The College Basket ball team also participated in the 2017 Milo Basketball competition up to the state quarter final stage loosing to the Nigerian Turkish International School.
