All of the College students take Home Economics as a subject at JSS level. Their course is designed to help them develop their knowledge and skills in several areas including:
home-economics Foods & nutrition Child development Family living Home management Clothing, fashion & grooming.
Additionally, the students are encouraged to have positive attitudes to healthy living and to develop good lifestyle habits.
At senior level in the SS classes, students can opt to study Foods and Nutrition at the College. With a well-equipped laboratory, this subject is gaining in popularity as the students see the opportunities to learn important life skills. The students recognise of course, that these will help them be self-reliant and will also improve the quality of their family living.
The Foods and Nutrition course at the College has five central themes:
Nutrition and health Kitchen management Food preparation, storage and preservation Entertainment Consumer education
